About our Shoes
Organic Cotton
One of the most important things for us is to design a shoe that will not cause more harm to our environment, or even to ourselves.
After researching for many many months, sourcing a material that is not dyed or grown using harmful, toxic chemicals, we finally partnered with a supplier who produces Organic Cotton.
What is Organic Cotton?
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that has a low impact on the environment. It is grown without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and synthetic fertilisers.
So how is conventional cotton any different?
Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world, growing conventional cotton is also one of the most chemical-intensive.
The chemicals that are used to grow and treat conventional cotton have an enormous impact on the earth's water, soil, air and the people that come in contact with it.
Apple Leather
After a couple of years of trying to source a 'leather look' material that wasn't full of plastics, we have partnered with a factory in Italy that produces a leather made out of Apples!
Our Factory
Our Piccolini Sneakers are manufactured in Chengdu. We have our very own team in the factory who we work extremely close with. Every shoe is carefully checked by our quality controller on site to make sure it is perfect before it leaves the factory. We work very closely with our factory, as well as the shoe component suppliers, to ensure that we meet all ethical standards and requirements.
Quality Materials
We take pride in knowing that the materials used to make our unique sneakers are the best quality. Every pair of shoes that walk out of Piccolini, are made with Certified Organic cotton, both the upper and the lining OR Apple Leather. The soles of the shoes are made out of genuine rubber and are designed to endure many kicks and knocks.
They grip to all surfaces and are designed with the ability to bend and flex in all the right places. A lot of time was spent sourcing a durable velcro. This means no more fluff getting caught in your shoes!
